Happy New Year one and all...... Siga and I wish you, and everybody, a 2012 filled with joyful days and splendid adventures....... and all of the other good things that we wish one another at this time of the year......

We have spent the last week disappearing Christmas and making the gallery bright and cheery for the new year. I always have a lot of fun moving everything around to make room for new things that we bring in at the start of the season.....

Bright and cheery are the perfect words to describe our shiny new tote bags from Marc Tetro...... with Westie on Red, Schnauzer with Blue Leash, and Boston on a Rug being the first dog images in the series. Lunch would be happy riding to work in one of these.....

Winter has not yet come for a lot of us, so it is a little bit early to jump forward into spring, but for those of you who have had some chilly days, we have a little bit.....

The big white Dress to Kill tee is a fabulous shape!!!! The exaggerated long sides are anchored with ruffled fabric flowers....... With it we have put a necklace from our new collection from Barbara McKinder. The geometric designs on the metal are accented with the springy black rubber and silver rings. This necklace is clean and contemporary.... light-weight.... and easy on the wallet.

The same can be said of all of Barbara's jewelry. We have tried a little bit of a lot of different looks because we like just about everything that she creates..... from the bold black rubber with the spring knot to the intricate black wire geometrics. There are also smashing earrings in this collection....

Black and white has long been my personal favorite theme...... those of you who know me can attest to the fact that it is what I wear the most!!! So you know that I have to love the Cupcake Slip with its rows of polka dot ruffles..... how much happier can a piece of clothing get???? It gets happier when layered over a Stretch Tulle Tee.... and then gets a white cotton organdy Carousel Slip and a black cotton Bakery Cami layered over it. (Sounds like a day at the amusement park.... cupcake.... carousel... I'm there!!!) The necklace is one from our Saints and Sinners collection. (The Bakery Cami is also available in white cotton.)

Dressed for spring are our new small folk art dolls.... Lottie with her string of hearts, Layla with her polka dot stars, and Liesel with her garland of flowers....

Catherine Bacon makes all really, really beautiful things!!! We are introducing her first "smaller" painted silk tee.... smaller in size and shorter than her dramatic "butterfly" tops. These tops are so perfect to travel with.... they fold up into the smallest squares (and this one might be tiny!!!). Catherine's good friend, Susan Green, created the necklace that is so perfect with this subtly elegant top.

....And then there is drama!!!! The giant kumo flower on this shibori "butterfly" is beautiful worn on either side..... and these tops can also be used as wall decor if hung on a long rod (NOT where it will get any sun!!!!).... With this we are showing a new necklace from San Francisco artist Tanya Profis.

This hammered sterling silver and copper ring necklace has bold and unusual shapes and textures.... it is fun to decide which part to wear where..... Each of Tanya's pieces is one-of-a-kind.... and hard to come by as she tries to work her creative time around a serious career....

So..... now I am going to bombard you with a lot of new Krista Larson outfits..... some simple and easy.... some really layered up.... that I have been working on since we got our latest shipment. The best thing about any of these pieces is that it can all be worn now and through most of the spring.... and the lighter weight pieces go all through the year.....

Valentine's Day is right around the corner (AND we are getting a whole new shipment of red before then!!!) so I thought this would make for a festive evening..... We have a black satin Dress to Kill skirt as the bottom layer with a red Stretch Tulle Tee, a red thready organza Short Cotton Ball Slip, and a luxurious black velvet Bakery Cami. One of Vivena's charming flower garlands is the perfect accessory...

Pretty dressed up too (but this can look great as a duster over a white tee and jeans too!!!!) is the black taffeta Strudel Dress worn as a duster over a vanilla silk Parachute Slip and a Robin Kaplan layered lace skirt. Nothing but a Diana Frey "heart box" necklace will do with this....

Mixing stripes can have a great effect!!!! Next we have our Stretch Tulle Tee as the only solid piece with a wide stripe taffeta Cotton Ball Skirt, a sheer stripe organza Short Wavey Slip, and an elegant subtly striped Bakery Cami. This is really a beautiful outfit!!!!!.... and more beautiful with another Saints and Sinners necklace.....

Our folk art dolls are pretty dressed up too..... Miss Maybelle and Pearl are thrilled with their polka dots for spring.... and they are all layered up too, with pantaloons and fancy wings.....

Simple and elegant is our check taffeta Cotton Ball Skirt with the simple tee and a gorgeous black velvet Pinwheel Cami. It is a beautiful backdrop for Diana Frey's "chained up" necklace.... for which we have long fancy matching earrings....

Sometimes we like to mix up a fancy piece with simple ones..... like this sequined stripe taffeta Smashed Cami over cotton Voyager Pants, a Stretch Tulle Tee, and the giant polka dot cotton Short Cotton Ball Slip. The Bling necklace is the equalizer....?

Barbara McKinder's black wire necklace is perfect with the check taffeta Pinwheel Cami that we have over our basic tee and black silk Wavey Pants...

Now, I have been making some pretty sarcastic comments about plaid and Catholic school, so I think this is the perfect time to introduce some of Paisley's plaques..... We have a whole collection of them that just arrived about a week ago, and this is a sampling of them. Hmm..... maybe she can do plaid and Catholic school sometime?????

So..... here is the plaid. We just can't seem to get enough of it, and we love the way it works back to other colors.....

I just kept layering.... and LAYERING..... Starting with our black Stretch Tulle Tee...... from the bottom up, we have a portobello organdy/rayon Cyclone Slip, a mineral star paisley printed cotton Coquette Slip, a cotton plaid Short Wavey Slip, a mineral cotton organdy Cyclone Cami, and a cotton flannel Smashed Cami...... Whew!!!!..... and a purple and brown Vivena! felted wool flower pin!........

The plaid Cotton Ball Skirt is FABULOUS!!!!!! We have it here with our basic tee, a vanilla thready organza Cyclone Cami, and a velvet Smashed Cami. It dresses up even more with the bold beaded Teresa Goodall necklace!

The Saints and Sinners "Three Ring Circus" necklace is perfect to go with our linen Spring Pants, mineral polka dot Emma Shirt, and plaid Smashed Cami.....

We have added a Diana Frey necklace as the "girlie" accent to this casual combination of cotton Wavey Pants, basic tee, and plaid Pinwheel Cami....

NOW, can you believe that we actually have a lot more Krista Larson in stock..... that I didn't use every single piece????? True... true... And here I would like to tell you that quite recently a favorite customer said that she thought everyone should know that these are the easiest clothes to wear because they are for anytime and anywhere and always work and look and feel great..... Thanks, Mag!

There will be a new shipment of Comfy coming on Monday...... Don't ask me what because I haven't a clue. Check it out on Facebook....... I can pretty much guarantee that it will not be around long enough to be in our next newsletter!!!!! Just go to our website and click on the Facebook icon to check our almost daily postings.......

Remember my mentioning how much I would love to be at the Oak Knoll Inn.... all comfy in the fabulous big bed with the "fit for a princess" sheets and pillows.... going into ecstasy over Barbara's amazing breakfast?????? Well, throw in enjoying a glowing fire and a good book, and it spells Siga's and my anniversary weekend......

SO..... come see us...... call us...... we are looking forward to seeing or hearing from you!!!

XOXOX....
