Hi, there....everywhere!!!
We love that this newsletter is now getting to people all over the world and that we are getting to meet a lot of nice new people......that is one of the reasons that we have clothes for most seasons most of the time. We have wonderful customers who shop here from Australia and New Zealand, where spring is coming!!!!
You have been looking at our spring and summer collections, all of which are available in nice selections.....lots of Krista Larson cottons and silks, Barbara deJounge's fabulous polka dot sundresses, soft dressing in hand-dyed cottons and silks from Robin Kaplan, ItemZ bright linen shirts, etc...etc...ETC.!!!!!!!!
HOWEVER, you have to know that once it gets to be one-hundred degrees in Seattle.....FALL is on the way!!!!!!
This is the Early August Newsletter because things are coming in totally haphazardly, making each day a new adventure....... Fun for you is the fact that we seem to think we have the space of a department store and have bought accordingly. Yes, we know that there is a recession, but we still do what we do best.... have all of the things that we love for both you and us to play with!
I am having a hard time deciding where to start?????........
My web designer loves the colors of the new Krista Larson collection, and so do I, so that's where we will start....
Never before have we brought in all three Krista colors at once, but these are so beautiful together that I just couldn't not do it!!! The new colors are Bronze, Sage, and Terra Cotta.....all nice and rich and earthy. The new linen/cotton/metal fabric that Krista is introducing this season is my special favorite because it is all texturey and crunchy. That fabric is great on smaller figures too!!! The stripes and checks and plaids in cottons and silks enable you to mix the colors in myriad ways. I had too much fun putting these outfits together....had to send Siga to the gym for a few hours after work so that I could just play and play and play. I kept changing things around until my head almost exploded!
The terra cotta Bakery Cami shows off the beauty of the linen/cotton metal fabric (also known as LCM) as the raw edges show off the weave's darker threads. We are showing it here with the Double Layer Net Tee and over a polka dot Short Wavey Slip, an LCM Bubble Skirt (that reverses to checked silk taffeta), and the new silk organza Flamingo Skirt. Petrushka's velvet flower necklace shows off the colors well???
The new Knotted Jacket is wonderfully elegant in the Chinese floral silk fabric with velvet ties!!! It is combined simply with a Double Layer Net Tee and checked taffeta Wavey Pants. Ellie Fraenkel and Dorothy Taylor's stone and silver choker is the perfect understated accessory....
The sage colored cotton Organdy Moth Jacket is both crunchy and ethereal (what a combo!!!!) With it we are showing (SIMPLE again...) a cotton plaid Sweet Pea Cami and LCM Origami Pants. Freshly glittered lime and blood orange pins are the finishing touch.
I kept trying and trying to put together something that I had loved at the clothing show in LA....and, for the life of me, I couldn't remember it!!! So I did my best thing.... There is something just magical about the combination of the sage with the bronze, so........this Bakery Cami combines the two colors in a taffeta stripe ....We show it over the sage Double Layer Net Tee, a striped cotton broadcloth Short Wavey Slip, and a polka dot cotton Underpinning Skirt that has a bronze dot on a sage background. The Petrushka necklace just HAPPENS to combine the colors beautifully as well......
The bronze Soutache Jacket has EVERYTHING.....LCM, gorgeous color, and details to die for!!!!! The sculptural flowers on the front are breath-taking....and you can't even imagine the gathered panel running down the back! This whole outfit is over- the-top luxury simply combined. The Chinese floral silk Picket Fence Cami is tonal and scrumptious , and the new checked taffeta Bakery Pants have fabulous detail at the hem. Accessory...does it need one???
Okay....so I have a hundred pieces to choose from, and I actually used the same things twice????? But, it's so pretty!!!! The bronze seersucker stripe Emma Jacket is equally comfortable over your favorite jeans, but here we have it with the good old Double Layer Net Tee, the soutache Short Wavey Slip, a striped cotton broadcloth Short Wavey Slip, an LCM Bubble Skirt (this one reverses to the sage/bronze taffeta stripe) and a polka dot cotton Underpinning Skirt. The Robin Kaplan knotted silk scarf accents the colors nicely. This is a lot of layers, but aren't they fab???
I have been working with so many new Krista customers lately who realize the versatility of these garments that I am amazed. I love it when someone brings her own tees and jeans and starts to layer the Krista pieces onto them!! I love not having to explain how EASY these clothes really are!!!!!!!
...and speaking of EASY.....ItemZ has come out with a new fabric that you will love! The eggplant and charcoal ponti knit is softer than soft and DRAPES! The styles are easy too....a soft full pant, the Swing Shirt, and the longer Open Neck Shirt.
Since people have already bought a couple of these off of my newsletter displays, we know how good they are, and next week we will also have a new shirt....the asymmetric shirt.. All styles are One Size. These shirts love pins.....here we are showing one of Terri Logan's sterling, slate and river rock stick pins on the charcoal and my favorite fruit pins on the eggplant.
Ray Harris continues to amaze with the breadth of his style and fabric choices. Here we have his new pieced gabardine coat in shades of charcoal and black with subtle plaids and stripes accented with a few frayed raw edges. We pair this coat with his crinkled waist pants and a simple white tee. Not so simple is our one-of-a-kind Biba Schutz silver pin....... We also have a fabulous new coat from Ray that is on its fourth reorder!!! We have never put it into a newsletter because it is a little early, and even Ray is astonished at how many we have sold! The fabric is the magic.....it is a luxuriously soft textured fleece that is made out of recycled plastic soda bottles.....yes, all of those CRVs can now be a fashion statement! It is a big wrap coat that will be the perfect fall and winter traveler....and one of our customers loves it so much that she is thinking of just wearing it around home when it is cold......
A new line that we are introducing this fall is Oska. Many of you have requested it, we like it, and it's here! Since not all of the collection has arrived as yet, I have just put together three easy pieces......a soft washed black denim pant, an eggplant cowl sweater, and a soft purple boiled wool jacket. We also have a couple of fabulous coats, cropped sweaters in a contemporary shape, a quirky plaid skirt that we loved enough to buy it in two colors, and, and, and....
We have gotten in our reorder of Elisabethan tees, and there are more of their fuzzy handwarmers on the way since it has gotten COLD (normal for summer) in San Francisco.
Our sock drawers are exploding with great new socks.....
.....and we have lots of other great stuff too......
.....and, I have to go now because the UPS guy just brought me two big boxes that just MIGHT be new sweaters from Barbara deJounge......
You'll know soon..
Love you all BUNCHES.....
