Sometimes I just can't wait to have all of the month's deliveries arrive before doing a newsletter.....mostly because we like to put things out on the floor...... and then sometimes they start to sell too fast.....and we certainly don't want you to miss anything!!!!!
We are really loving the progress of fall and getting in new things that we have decided to try, like Robin Kaplan.....Robin Kaplan is a designer from the California coast whose work we have been following for some time, and this was the time to give it a try. Robin's clothing is made out of soft, luxurious fabrics that drape like a dream. All of her fabrics are hand-dyed, creating a variety of hues within each garment. And....best of all....her styles are simple and easy to wear. We have put together a few different outfits to show you possible combinations of colors and fabrics. Believe it or not, I personally have and wear her simple silk habotai skirt with a v-neck tee shirt and one of her knotted silk belts.....no layers!!!! I adore it!!!!!
Robin Kaplan has a beautiful book each season of fabulously styled photographs of her new collection. It was through this book that we found Diana Frey, out favorite new jewelry artist. All of Diana's pieces are one-of-a-kind and very, VERY special. Collecting Diana's jewelry is our new obsession. We are giving you a peek at some of her newest pieces.....
It was Diana's "Angel Pendant Necklace" that inspired us to put together this outfit featuring Giselle Shepatin's random knit stripe sweater with Catherine Bacon's fabulous rose taffeta skirt. Pretty beautiful???
We are getting three different shirt collections from ItemZ this month, and the first of them is here. These cotton/metal shirts, which have a wonderful scrunchy feel, double beautifully as jackets. It's really great to have some new styles with edgy details.....like the double pocket in the back of the panel shirt. OK...so what would you put there???
On the accessory front, we have some seriously nice leather pieces by Johnny Farah. The leather is rich and heavy....vintage leather, which they call "ancient"....and comes in a variety of mostly unisex bags and wallets, bracelets and belts. The hand-stitched detail on some of the bags gives them an earthy, rugged look.
When she was visiting us in San Francisco with her first jewelry collection, Diana Frey took some photos of our store and put them on her website in a lovely little "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" piece. A couple of you have checked out her website and have commented on how much the store has changed. Well.....Siga and I realize that some of you have not been here for a long time, and that some of you have never been here at all, so we asked our web designer to take a few photos herself and to give you a mini tour of our gallery. We hope it is fun for you!
We are working on updating our gift pages for the holiday season and hope to have it up soon.
Things are just moving SO FAST!!! Where has this year gone??? Wasn't it Valentine's Day just last week???
We hope that all is well with all of you. Yes, things are a bit (a lot) crappy and scary right now, but being the eternal optimists, and good Americans, we know that everything will be alright!!!! We are unanimous in that. (Only meaningful if you know "Are You Being Served?")
Love you heaps and bunches…..
