As we pass through the last few days of Indian summer and begin cozying up to the rituals and festivities of fall and the holidays to come, I think of that fabulous CitiBank (I think!!!) billboard.....“Along with the carbs and the calories, be sure to count your blessings”.....and hope that all of you are not only counting, but are reveling in yours! So many great possibilities come with the season.....
Festive is the spirit of Blanque's new cranberry brocade, made into camisoles and tops to complement the black novelty fabrics of the jackets, pants, and skirts. Novelty is the new direction that our Blanque collections will be taking for the next several months. The current fabric selections include black textured “crocodile,” a woven crushed stripe, and a shiny black with a thin white stripe (I usually refer to this as the “gangster” stripe). The stripe fabric is so great to wear all year round with anything from the cranberry brocade to white silk or linen that I bought a LOT of it to take us into the spring!!!
When we think fall and winter, we usually think cozy, and cozy and comfortable define our new collection of Breakfast in Tokyo separates! All of the pieces come in a lively shade of purple, a color that we know mixes with just about everything! In our photo we have matched it with a rosy brick tank top from Crea.... it would be equally wonderful mixed with acid green or fuchsia or turquoise or red or.....! In the sketches you can see all of the wonderful detail work that makes these casuals a cut above.
We have gotten the first two styles of Anya's fall tee shirt collection, with more to follow soon. We know that many of you are collecting her pieces and are anxiously awaiting new styles! We also have put in a nice stock of her handwarmers for the fall and holiday season.
I so fell in love with Bodil's tie skirt that I was forced to buy a few pieces to go with it! The jacket in the sketch is actually quite wonderful.....although even I admit that the sketch is mighty weird! Black is always so easy and perfect for the holidays......
We do keep getting in reorders from Krista Larson just about every week and are now happy to say that we finally have a nice stock of her fabulous double layer stretch tulle leggings as well as our most popular Picket Fence Shirt!!!!
We have new purses from Susan Riedweg.....new styles, new leathers, new colors. AND, we now also have a nice collection of her novelty leather cosmetic bags!!!!!
The other 200 pairs of socks that Sandy and I ordered from Sox Trot have finally appeared and are even more fabulous than I had remembered!
Ana Livingston is an artist from Santa Fe whose jewelry is making its debut this month. Siga and I met her in New York a few weeks ago, and we love that she brings a splash of color to our store in some unique and different ways. You are seeing pictures of our first two necklaces (if you get e-mail!!!!), and we have a nice selection of her earrings as well.
OK, can you guess what Doriena and I were doing on Halloween???? If you guessed “Putting out Christmas”, you are right! I just LOVE Christmas stuff, so much that I actually made what was left of the Halloween candy my lunch so I could play with it!!!!! However, if it lasts until Thanksgiving, I will be surprised.....I am just thankful that Siga made me buy the giant Santa Frog so that we will have something to last through December!!!
Oh! Yes! We are packed with holiday ideas!!!!!!!!
