How appropriate that it should be 90 degrees in San Francisco.......doesn't it make you want to ride around in your red convertible???? Siga and I don't have a red convertible, but we do love our Cynthia Hipkiss red bumper car with US sitting in it.....Siga ever so handsome in his Armani suit and me with my Krista clothes and spiky silver wire hair!!!! Cynthia is fabulously imaginative about personalizing her sculptures......and we do have quite a wonderful collection of her whimsical characters throughout the gallery!

I hope that you have all enjoyed your summer as we have enjoyed ours......only maybe it is just now starting, who knows???? At least we have wonderful fall cotton colors that will see us through the HOT days of early autumn..........

This is going to be quite a red and black newsletter............

Our Blanque for the fall season has arrived, so.......if you want it, GET IT NOW!!!!! We love the city sophistication, the perfectly polished business attire, that this collection embodies. Our three new jackets are all about the drama and power of red, each with a little bit of black to make the soft, drapey black pants the perfect bottom. Our stock of black crepe pants is at its peak for the season, and they are by far the best, easiest to travel with, and the easiest to care for pants that we have ever had! They do come with dry cleaning instructions, but they wash beautifully in cold water with mild soap on a gentle cycle, and you just hang them to dry. AND.....Blanque's black crepe is ALWAYS the same color!!!!! I f you want to ad a dash of fun, how about this wispy feather pin???

Bodil's "Comfy Autumn" French terry separates are back for another season. Easy and casual, these pieces are fun and funky with their raw edges and oversized buttons. Again, we have put an emphasis on red because it goes so easily with black pieces that you already have! I especially love the long asymmetric tank top hanging from beneath the cropped jacket, shown here with one of Bodil's new pant styles. For a touch of zaniness, we add pins or necklaces by Diana Taylor.

Our ItemZ ponti knit was so popular that we have ordered more, adding the asymmetric shirt. Our colors are still aubergine and charcoal, and we like either one with black knit pants as much as with matching ones. Our Ruth Spencer scarves are a nice finishing touch???

Catherine Bacon's "butterflies" are something that we have each year as they are so beautiful and are constantly changing.. This dramatic dark chocolate silk with the bright red abstract flower is perfectly accented with her French net ball scarf!

Because we love cotton, and we LOVE mixing fabrics and textures, this black and charcoal Krista Larson outfit is a favorite. We mix cotton broadcloth dots and stripes with sheer cotton organdy and a whimsical feather pin.....you could almost be wearing this today!!! The cotton element of the sage mix is the striped seersucker Soutache Jacket....so wonderfully texturey with the small checked taffeta Emma Shirt and the crinkly linen/cotton/metal Origami Pants, and the wrinkly ribbon necklace from Anna Cobra. Our Krista Larson collection is the best EVER! We have lots and lots of black and charcoal and white.....and the COLORS!!!!!....the richness of Krista's autumn shades and the potential mixes of color are amazing. Just yesterday, I put the new sage linen/cotton/metal fabric with last autumn's loden and WOW.....pretty beautiful.......And the bronze and portobello.....another WOW...........

Accessories are always the frosting on an outfit....and we all know that frosting is a MUST. We are bringing in new ones all the time.

The feather pins that you have seen on the Blanque and Krista pictures are just part of a collection of rather outrageously oversized flower and dramatically colored feather pins.

Charms have taken on a life all their own!!! I sometimes hope that Sally Jean and the girls at Pick Up Sticks don't have caller ID because I call them so many times asking "WHERE are my charms???...and while I have you on the line, I better order more!!!" When my friend Kat (Pixie Bleu Vintage) started buying charms for me (many charms, at that!) and I started wearing chains full of them, I had no idea how much other people would love them too!!!!! Between Sally Jean and Pick Up Sticks, we have a collection of charms and bracelets that will be quite wonderful again in just a few days. We can't take pictures of the charms because they are a bit too small, but you can come in to see them.....ALSO....they come in so many shapes and sizes and themes that they are going to be the perfect presents for your family and friends. WARNING: they ARE addictive.....once you start, it is next to impossible to stop!!!!!!!!!

....and while we are on the subject of great things that you and your friends "must have", we have a whole new batch of hand warmers from Elisabethan....yes, the same people who make those fabulous pieced recycled tee shirts. They are all made of recycled fuzzy, fleecy fabrics. Part of what makes them fun is that depending on which hand is wearing them, they can be matching or not!

Gillian Julius' silver and string bracelets that so many of you already have will reappear again in about a week.... some reorders are hard to keep up with.......

Recycling is fun!!!! It boggles my mind how clever some people can be in refashioning something used and disposable. How about a passport cover made from emergency instruction cards from now defunct Hawaiian Airlines???? Or a wallet or credit card holder made out of old maps. Or a coupon wallet made out of almost ANYTHING old and printed???

Susan Lewis creates with stitches and fabric what many artists do with paint when she makes her appliqued potholders. They are charming pieces to add to your own kitchen or to those of friends. Here we have her new vegetarian cook, her "fancy dressed" women and some of her other cooks and party goers. Susan loves to create new personalities and embraces new challenges, so if you have any ideas for special ideas, we will be happy to cater to your whims!!!!!

So....now I am mostly hot and crabby. Thankfully, our customers do not confuse us with McDonald's French fries....they understand why the lights are off! And bare feet are good! But at least I get to be here to play with my friend Phoebe now that my work is almost done.......

I hope that you have a great holiday weekend!!!!

Look forward to seeing you soon.....
