We are certainly enjoying this little bit of summer that we always have in the middle of winter in San Francisco....just like you all know about some of our chilly summer days. It leads to a lot of confusion as to what we want to feature in our window and in the front of the store. Oh, well.....we do have something for everybody in every climate somewhere in here......
Winter, summer, anytime, we do love Barbara de Jounge!!!! Her pin sweaters keep running out of here in the black and the green, so we have brought in a couple of other colors.....red and purple. Barbara is also working on more whimsical combinations and details now that she has designed such a great shape. Then we have the fabulous little crinkled wool jackets in lemon and apple green that close with the same great black pins. These are perfect little toppers for a casual outfit on a brisk day! By far the most spectacular of Barbara's creations that we have ever had (so far!!) is the charcoal shibori wool jacket. I cannot begin to imagine the work that she puts into texturing this fabric!!!! More to come as the season goes on.....
Ray Harris is always a busy guy, designing more and more new styles in his pleated polys (one of these went to the inaugural ball!!!) and introducing new fabrics and textures each season.....
His new pleated cocktail coat is both graceful and dramatic with its gentle swing and more fitted body. We love it teamed with his slim pleated pant and a simple tank. For a more funky and casual look, the pleated halter dress is an easy piece to slip over a tee and a slim pant...we are showing it here with Krista Larson's Double Layer Stretch Net Tee and Legging. Our collection of pleats is at its all-time best for whatever you have up coming.......
No slouch in the woven department, Ray has added to both his bi-stretch and his cotton collections. How sophisticated is his tuxedo coat over the tuxedo pant with his new cross-pleat tee??? My friend Sarah tried this on for me while she was here, and it is drop dead!!!! We have several new things in the crinkled cotton stripes....dresses as well as tops and pants. The colors are charcoal/white, medium/dark brown, and medium/darker green. We are showing you the green shadings here in the tunic and pant. We have only one piece of each color in each style, and they will be all that is available of this limited edition fabric!!!!!
And then, FINALLY!!! we have our first new Krista Larson spring collection in shades of lavender. We have brought in a lot of more casual fabrics this spring including a couple of printed cottons, sheer cotton organdy, textured cotton eyelet, and, our favorite...striped cotton seersucker. There are also quite a few nice new styles. I wanted to do something a little different this season so that those of you who are not layerers could see the virtue of one beautiful piece worn with what you already have and love. So, we took a few separate pictures....the new Amish Slip, the new Moth Jacket, and the always beautiful Bakery Cami.....and before we finished with this new concept, I was talking to our friend Lisa, who told me what great ideas she gets from the layered outfits!!! So we have a few of those too. I must admit that it is fun to put the outfits together and to accessorize them....
The Ragtime Cami (which we have in cotton jersey as shown, or in linen or silk taffeta) has proven to be a very easy and versatile style. Worn with the seersucker Origami Pant and a Double Layer Stretch Net Tee, you can buzz around doing all of your stuff looking more interesting than everybody! Also casual, but a little more over-the-top, is our seersucker Bow Jacket worn over the new linen Gregorian Cami over the seersucker Short Rockafeller Slip over the linen Origami Pant. The Origami pant is the best pant we have ever had from Krista, and it has become their best selling style as well. Wonderful simplicity is achieved by the new soutache silk organza Bubble Slip worn with a tee and the new cotton eyelet Pettipant with its layered cotton, organza, and tulle ruffle. And then there is easy dressy...the taffeta check Julliet Cami worn over a tee and a taffeta Bubble Skirt and Wavy Pants. And you KNOW I can go on and on.....
You will notice all kinds of necklaces and pins and scarves adorning our new things, and we do have wonderful accessories. More are on the way. The first accessory order to come in already this spring is Sox Trot. We have many new styles already, and Sarah and I found more great new socks than we imagined when we went to market this past weekend.
Spring is looking good!!! Time to turn our thoughts....
Siga and I are looking forward to seeing or hearing from you.....
Love you lots!!!!!
