ATTENTION!!! Those of you who have purchased one of those fabulous Barbara deJounge sundresses.....a reliable source in our nation's capitol has informed me that when it is washed, the black stripe bleeds into the white. Please DRY CLEAN these dresses if you want them to stay nice....or call me. (This is not code for some covert operation!) We are starting with this news alert because I know that SOME of you only read the pictures. If that is the case, you will really be scratching your head later....
HI!
Hope you are all well and have enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend. Siga and I actually got away for a few days (smelling salts, anyone?). But we are back now and very excited about new and upcoming THINGS....................
First we had those irresistible pin sweaters.....then the whimsical sundresses.....now we have new sweater styles and some really whackadoodle (I think I got that one from my friend Barbara, the chocolate queen) tee shirts. There are more sweaters than the ones that we are showing here, but I find that they look the best as part of an outfit...........
so we are showing the ones that I made into outfits.....you will have to come to look at the other ones!!!
A new cropped version of the pin sweater comes with a solid black body, striped sleeves, and a pin-on pocket. This does have to be worn over a longer layer....here we are using one of our Krista Larson two-tone Double Layer Net Tees.
The asymmetric "rag bag" sweater comes in both red and black.....and obviously will look best over an underneath layer......now here comes the whackadoodle part....Barbara's luxurious tee shirt with the LONG sleeves (tea or ankle length, depending on how tall you are!) that you ruffle up you arms. It is made of a really, REALLY nice fabric that just feels yummy....it is quite stretchy and fitted. Our cherry necklace was made for this!
Our black version of the "rag bag" sweater is layered over a Kedem Sasson tee and is accented with a necklace Barbara has made of "size rings"?????
For those of you who like LONG, we have the "rag bag" long vest, shown here with the LONG sleeve tee. Our Bella Accessories necklace was a special favor from Cynthia.....she had it made for us in the black paper mache with the black and white hand-blown glass bead center.
We have used various pant styles from our stock as bottoms for these sweaters.....just as you can use ones from your own closet...
All of these things will look really sharp with one of our Gillian Julius bracelets.....we just got our reorder.........
With the arrival of Robin Kaplan's verdigris group, I decided it was time to do my mix-it-up thing. This new color seemed to beg to be shown with Krista's sky and bark pieces. So mix them up I did.
I think my ultimate most favorite outfit that I have ever put together (even MORE favorite than the black and cream Krista from last time!!!) is this one where I have actually mixed three designers' work. I started with a Lilith bubble skirt in cocoa (you know that we NEVER mark anything down.....) .... over that, I tied a Robin verdigris silk organza wrap skirt.....the Krista sky sequined taffeta Venetian Cami topped that.....then Robin's verdigris wool lace cardigan......and for accessories, what more perfect than a long strand of soft-colored pearls by Ellie Fraenkel and Dorothy Taylor, AND a Robin hand-knotted silk scarf. Is that a knock-out, or is it just me???
I love to wear lots of skirts at the same time....my friend Phoebe taught me to do that. It's a good idea if you want to layer but have hot flashes......which I would rather call "personal summers". So, how about a Krista Larson polka dot organza Simple Skirt, then a Robin Kaplan light silk petal skirt, and then a taffeta petal skirt....all with knots tied to give the bottom layers a lot of texture.....then add Robin's softer than soft French terry tee, a Krista sequined taffeta Venetian Cami, and the sea foam shades of Bella Accessories' large bead necklace.
For a more casual look....Robin's fancy, funky old-looking lace accents the bottom of both her linen pants and her linen knit tank. We ADORE that lace!!!!! In between, we have layered Krista's silk organza Short Ragtime Slip and soutache organza Short Wavey Slip. The top layer is Robin's sheer, gauzy shrug.....a small knotted silk scarf finishing off the look.
Last, and equally wonderful, we have Robin's voile/tulle petticoat under her tulle trimmed taffeta slip, topped with her sensuous charmeuse bias cut tee with the silky knit sleeves. We added Krista's polka dot organza Sweet Pea Cami and a Diana Frey necklace .............
Can you tell that this time I really, REALLY do want to write a newsletter????? If only my fingers could fly as fast as my mind......
I have already started working of mix-em-ups for next month, which is next week.....ALREADY. And there are more new goodies hidden away in the stockroom upstairs.........
Remember to dress up every day. Why wait for something special....isn't today—and aren't YOU—special??? Make it a pleasure for others to see you....
Siga and I hope to see you soon. Hope things are going okay for you all....okay is better than....
Cheers and XXXXX,
