Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep track of our business, receive and mark and find homes for all of our great new stuff, try to be a good housewife.....AND .....keep up with the Olympics and politics????? YIKES!!!!!!!!!
So.....we may have to open up that "annex" I was talking about in the upstairs stockroom! Be sure when you come to ask what's up there because, as my friend Jacque so often says..."She hides all the best stuff......" Well, "hide" in not really true.....but maybe inconveniently place the very thing you want.
SO...we have tons of great new stuff.....
Those of you who bought one of the first Jermikko coats know just how fabulous they are!!! Now we have the other part of the collection. The whimsical flower coat, which we have in both red and black, is a bit of a lighter weight wool than the others and can even be worn here in California when our weather starts to chill. For those of you in the colder climates, how cute is that little number with the faux fur buttons??? We get about a zillion postcards before each market, all of which get pitched into the circular file, but the card with a picture of this coat on it caught my eye.....and the real thing captured our hearts.....
We introduced you to Judy Tampa with a small spring collection and are now thrilled with the way she has designed fall!!! The washed pinstripe wool is soft and ever-so-slightly rumpled and has great detail work! We couldn't decide which of two jackets we loved the most....so we have both.....and to go with them we have her really great fitting pants. We like the look of these pieces with something really casual such as the patterned Sledge tee. The Debbie Jacket, which we had in shades of crinkled silk in the spring, now reappears in two different lengths. This time we show it in silk lined with cotton flannel.....cozy and contemporary with its raw edges. These are great with just a top and jeans....or as we show them here, with whimsical Krista Larson pants and fluffy silk flowers as accessories.
Steel Pony is another new line we first introduced in the spring, something for the casual look we so often look for and can't find. Fall offers a variety of possibilities, including many sweaters, in hand-dyed shades of Slate and Black and Green Tea. The corduroy pant with its novelty tie pockets is perfect with many of the tops....here we show it with a long sleeve tee and a pullover vest, and, of course, we add the Stickball cherry necklace! We top our mixed fabric skirt with the same long sleeve tee and the small vest.....and the Stickball squiggle pin. There are many ways to play these pieces....all of them easy and fun. We have sizes small through very extra large. We love Steel Pony for the variety of sizes it offers!!! (.....and for the fact that these wonderful people were happy to provide dyed-to-match tee shirts to go with their collection!!!!!!!!)
Our love affair with Ray Harris is obvious to you all.....and I may say that the feeling is shared by those of you who own his pieces. We are featuring our favorite....the Double Hem Band Dress.....for two reasons: (1) we now have it available in Ginger, Flame, Storm, Violet, Olive, and Fern (the two black ones we got in this week were already spoken for!) and (2) we wanted to show off some of the gorgeous new one-of-a-kind Petrushka scarves!!!!! These scarves can be used as shawls also, and they do make whatever you put them with that much more spectacular!!!! We also show some of Ray's separates (Billowy Skirt, Tank, and Small Cardigan) in Donkey with a steely blue/gray scarf. Pretty???
While we do adore Kedem Sasson, we have not had it in quite a while because his pants, which used to fit EVERYBODY, now fit almost nobody who wants to wear them. HOWEVER, we keep trying to work on him....and in the meantime, we have brought in this swoopy ruffle edged tunic in both gray and in black. It looks perfect with a pair of Blanque crepe pants....which do fit most of you!!! Ruth Spencer's new "butterfly" neckpiece makes a nice accessory.
Marsha is making vests as fast as she can....not quite as fast as you buy them, but she is trying to catch up. The two vests that we are showing this time are oversized and long and FABULOUS!!!!! We are expecting some medium sizes this week sometime......
Now, you are wondering why we don't have photographs of Sarah Pacini??? Well, it is really hard to take pictures of things that are all or mostly black and have them look like anything!!!!! Those of you who know and love this collection from Italy .....with its forward fabrics and edgy details.....will want to come in and play with the new pieces....or call and let us send them to you!
NOW...we also have some (a lot) of new accessories.........
The MOST patterns we have ever had in Sox Trot Socks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New bags from Bo's Art Collection. Beautiful metal mesh bags made by a couple of really talented artists from Southern California ......
AND....we have some really, really, heart-stoppingly wonderful jewelry from Diana Frey. We brought it in to go with a new collection that we are going to introduce in October, but I have been showing it to people and have been selling it and so we just got some more.....Wow! I do love a run-on sentence!!! We will show you some of her pieces in the next newsletter.....because her jewelry is perfect with Krista Larson.....
.....as for the gallery.....
Halloween is just around the corner, so we have put out our collectible Olive Rose witches (featuring Camille) and our witches and crows and pumpkins from Woof and Poof. We have other Halloween stuff too....like the "The Witch Is In" lit up sign.......and the orange with black wooden one ---"I'll get you my pretties...and your little dog too!"
.....and there will be more.....
PREVIEW.....Our friend Barbara Passino, who with her husband John owns and presides over the Oak Knoll Inn in a vineyard in the Napa Valley , is just finishing up a cookbook that all of her guests have been clamoring for called "Chocolate for Breakfast". First of all, the Oak Knoll Inn is only the most relaxing and romantic and fabulous getaway that Siga and I can ever think of.....and then THE FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There really is always chocolate for breakfast…and lots and lots of other heavenly stuff that Barbara prepares, much of it fresh from the garden at the inn. (This could be another whole newsletter.........) Anyway, I'll let you know when it is available, and I will be sure that one of the many that we are ordering for our family and friends will be here for you to peruse..
