Most of you have probably figured out by now that being excited is one of my specialties??? Well, when you have a couple of weeks like the last two that we have had......box after box of fabulous to be opened and played with and hung.....you would know just what that kind of excitement is.
And now, you have my permission, this one time only, to read the pictures first (if you haven't already, as I know that some of you do.........)
Krista Larson and Robin Kaplan have given us fall collections that I think amount to the best work we have ever seen from either of these talented designers. Luxurious in tone and texture, soft and feminine in design and shape, and ever so much fun to mix in myriad ways, as you see............
Robin's faux fur vest is the unexpected accessory to her softer than soft lace trimmed tee and crinkly taffeta petal skirt with the tulle petticoat peeking out of the bottom.....
Her long and lean modal/silk cardigan, lace trimmed tank, and asymmetrical skirt have a lace trimmed petticoat peeking out.....The jersey is a fabric that you will want to live in all of the time.......
We have always loved the delicate pattern in the wool lace cardigan with its soft silk trim and pretty buttons.....here shown with the tank and a crinkle silk wrap skirt over a tulle petticoat.
There is a lot more to Robin's collection....all beautiful colors that show off the beauty of hand-dyed fabrics....all soft and sexy styles that make you feel like a princess! AND , our collection of hand-tied scarves is the best ever! The scarves and belts are more and more elaborate as they incorporate different fabrics and silk flowers......
Krista Larson always blows me away with her talent to introduce so many new styles each season and to develop some extraordinary fabrics. This season we love her new crinkly/shimmery (but not too !!!) linen/cotton/metal fabric. It has a lot of body, and gives many styles a whole new shape! We love the colors that we introduced last month, and now we also love the new black......
The new shirts in the collection this season are so pretty that we decided to order them in several different fabrics....cottons, sheers, silk taffetas.....
You see two of our new loves in one simple outfit.....the white cotton broadcloth Papardelle Shirt with the striped linen/cotton/metal Origami Pants. This is so great on its own, it can go without an accessory?????
The Fan Shirt is elegant in black/silver gray...shown here with black silk taffeta Wavey Pants.........
See??? I can so do simple and elegant......
But then.....how about the sheer silk organza Fan Shirt over our new linen/cotton/metal Cyclone Cami, striped taffeta Short Wavey Slip, and Linen/cotton/metal Tornado Skirt. Great option as a sexy, feminine jacket, no????
You have got to admit that the Extreme Spring Skirt shown here in cotton organdy is a dramatic bottom layer for our Cyclone Cami, dotted Venetian Cami, and Stretch Tulle tee. This is a great look to wear with some fabulous boots for fall....
Accessories by Diana Frey and Anna Cobra are just made for these collections. We have really beautiful new necklaces and chokers that Diana made for our fall collections. Some of the pieces incorporate fabrics from the Robin Kaplan collection as Diana designs many of her pieces to complement her friend's soft, feminine clothing. Anna Cobra's necklaces are a new addition this season.....sweet pieces with even a casual tee shirt.....
And while we are talking about accessories.....our friend Ruth Spencer, who is a talented writer and photographer in addition to being an artist who has been making us unique and unusual neck pieces for years, has decided to turn her energies to writing for the immediate future. We are pleased to have one last extensive collection of her colorful and whimsical silk/wool creations!!! We are showing you a smattering of what we have. This is your last chance......
But be warned.....you will not be able to hide......people will pursue you down the street to find out where you got yours...... (I have heard this MANY times.....) We wish Ruth all of the satisfaction and success that we know she will achieve.
When Barbara deJounge puts her creative energies into something, WATCH OUT!!!! See how many great new sweaters we have??? You asked for the Pin Sweater to be longer??? Here it is! You wanted it shorter??? Well, here that is too!!!
You want new colors??? That too.......
And then we have Kedem Sasson.......We have a collection of his new knits, separate tops and pants.... and dresses like the one we show here. And who doesn't love a polka dot, especially a HUGE one, and even more especially if it is reversible????? Kedem's new jackets and coats are anything but shy. They are fun and frivolous and irresistible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We didn't have time to take any photos, but we also have a new line of feather and flower pins that are quite dramatic in color and size. (I'll just let you think you can imagine these....)
New stuff is coming in almost every day.....the space is just getting smaller and smaller......
My friend Sarah is here working with me for the next couple of weeks as Siga is off to the islands........Hope he gets home while we still have some of the things we bought together!!!!
We look forward to seeing you and playing with all of our new things to get you ready for a brand new fall..........
