How big is REALLY BIG?????
REALLY BIG is so big that some of our new collections are being forced to live in the upstairs stockroom.........
REALLY BIG is so big, and so great, that I am going the alphabetical route so that I am fair to just how great our designers are.......
Aimee G is the collection you have been waiting for if you wear SMALL sizes..... you know who you are!!!!! (It's OK...we love you anyway.....) This is a new collection that Siga and I found during our February buying trip to New York. I immediately fell in love with all of the novelty fabrics and whimsical designs! In the spring we had a few "granny" purses from Aimee G that we brought in because we just couldn't wait for fall..... those of you who loved them as much as we did snapped them up immediately! Of course, it is followed up by a new fall bag..... this time a big sack done in herringbone and stripes with a big pocket on the outside and two cute plaid ones on the inside. And then there are CLOTHES!!! The plaid sort of seersuckery knit jacket and skirt are shown with a tee (that has a great big dot on the back) and a pair of really silly leggings with a big dot on each knee. Both the jacket and the skirt are reversible to something totally different, and we have chosen this colorful Diana Taylor necklace to accent the striped up-turned cuffs and the subtle undertones in the plaid. Our more subdued stripe jacket and coulotte skirt have great little touches.....plaid and colorful trims, a tiny novelty pocket, and big non-matching buttons on the jacket. The pin we have chose as an accessory is just part of a whole collection ..... each with a totally different personality!!!!! There are other skirts and jackets and dresses, many of them reversible, to choose from. It's good to come in to try them on........
Barbara deJounge's sweaters have always been fabulous, and these two new ones are no exception. These elegant silver and charcoal sweaters are her wonderful 100% cotton, this time trimmed with a zipper and frosted leather...... there is also a small red patch in the back that you can't see. Leave it to Barbara to always have one more surprise!!!
We were very happy to have Biba Schutz in San Francisco for the American Craft Council Show, and we were even happier to get a "pick box" from her so that we could select some new pieces for the gallery! Alas, Siga was out of town when it came, but he seems to approve of my choices because he keeps playing with them! We now have a few more clip earring for those of you who have not pierced your ears, and some great new styles for those of you who have. I promise that I will not kidnap (earring-nap????) any of them for myself before you get to see them in person.....
A....B.....Carga Bags! We have introduced you to the heavy industrial wool ones..... now we have two new kinds. I obviously know what leather is..... and aren't the leather ones just yummy???....but I am not quite sure what the other material is..... it's sort of a coated fabric/vinyly thing with rough edges that I love. Thank Siga for his obsession with anything that looks or works like a bag..... these are great for women or men........
Our first new Krista Larson collection for the fall has arrived........rich, deep peacock in a range of beautiful fabrics, both casual and more dressed up...... With this collection, I am going to be showing you some of the reasons why we NEVER have a sale! When a new collection comes in, it is really strikingly beautiful on its own, but it is really fun to step it up with other colors from previous collections (or even pieces from other designers!). When we are done here, I am sure you are going to go into your own closet and get creative with what you already have!!!
When you walk in our front door, the first outfit that you see is a simple, pared-down one......Krista's fabulous raw-edged Double Layer Stretch Mesh Tee and silk taffeta Spring Pants that are topped off with her new Eyelash Cami in small checked silk taffeta. Our papier maché necklace with the hand-blown glass center bead brings out the colors of the little checks.....
I love that the cut edges of the peacock taffeta show a beautiful acidy gold color......so we have put a goldish/greenish Neesh stretch tulle tee under Krista's peacock silk taffeta Bakery Cami, under which we put a sage silk organza Short Rockafeller Slip, and a peacock silk taffeta Tornado Skirt. Ellie Fraenkel and Dorothy Taylor's green pearl necklace is the accessory touch that pulls it all together. (We used a Neesh tee because we are all sold out of Krista's sage ones.....) Like it?????
Simply elegant and dressy, all in silk taffeta, is the Origami Pant and the new Strudel Shirt (with the peacock feather pin!!!)...... This shirt has really fabulous detail that also goes around the back......
Going back to a couple of springs ago.....remember sky??? How great does the sky silk organza Sweet Pea Cami look layered over the richly patterned border-edged silk Tornado Slip and Stretch Mesh Tee with the crinkly linen/cotton/metal Petal Cami worn open as a vest????? That sentence was long enough..... the Tara Gasparian silver orchid and chalcedony bead necklace brings out the colors in the pattern of the silk.....
How much more plain and simple and easy can we be..... A black Origami Pant and Stretch Mesh Tee are the perfect underpinnings for this adorable polka dot cotton Cyclone Cami accessorized with a casual Teresa Goodall necklace. This, any of us can wear a lot of places.....
While we are doing easy, how about the new Candy Slip in small check cotton with our Stretch Mesh Tee..... and the tulle edges of the Roxy Skirt peeking out the bottom??? The Vivena flower garland adds a splash of fun!
And how absolutely DELICIOUS is the Candy Slip in silk taffeta.............?????!!!!!
....and now for the last of my "put togethers"..... Back to sky.....this time in the Stretch Mesh Tee, which we are showing under the plaid cotton Bakery Cami.......under which we have put a Robin Kaplan blue silk taffeta Petal Skirt and Krista's silk taffeta Wavey Pants......
Now it's your turn.......
Our raincoat closet is fully stocked for the season with these new arrivals......our sleek and sort of sexy shiny animal print with its pleated neckline that ties at the waist......our dramatic hooded coat with the gigantic polka dots guarantees that you will stand out in any crowd (and also can stand out in the rain)....and our animal print Donatella (our best-selling...EVER) with its pleated collar/hood. Each coat is reversible and comes in its own bag.....and remember, they are made in San Francisco!
Last, but only alphabetically, is Ray Harris, from whom we have lots of fabulous new things.....
The textured fleece coat.....some of you already have more than one!!! This has to be the one coat that you never want to take off or leave home without. It is soft and comfy.....and it's smart-looking too! AND....how much better is it that the fabric is made from recycled plastic soda bottles?? (DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!)
Ray's crinkled poly pieces go out a lot....to all of the best places..... Pewter is a new color addition to his collection this season, and we love it here in his new Hem Band Skirt and Jacket with a silver Fluted Top underneath. The Teresa Goodall necklace plays nicely into the colors...... The fluted top is one of our best sellers, therefore, we have it in a lot of colors.......
For you who are tall and willowy, how about this dramatic violet Bias Tunic with the pleated pants??? The green pearl necklace/necklaces are by Ellie Fraenkel and Dorothy Taylor once again.
The textured crush with its beautiful sheen is as dreamy to wear as it is to look at! I have tried it on a few times and love how it feels!!!!!!! The simple tunic and pant needs little but maybe this Teresa Goodall necklace and a sexy pair of shoes.... Some of this fabric is crinkled, making the perfect fitted top to go with the elegant long coat and drapey full pant. The Catherine Bacon scarf is one more touch of glamour.......
So we have it….. Now you know why we have no room! But we do have a lot of pretties to play with.......
We are nearing the end of summer (the one which never really was, if you live here in San Francisco)...... we have lots of wonderful things to wear for the rest of it and into the fall....... Siga and I are happy to have seen so many of you the last couple of months, and are looking forward to seeing more of all of you......
We hope that you and yours are happy and well.......
XOXOX.....
